ARGYLL AND BUTE SHINTY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The Camanachd Association has confirmed the appointment of Euan McMurdo as Argyll and Bute Shinty Development Officer.

Euan is well known in shinty circles as a first team player along with twin brother Andrew with Inveraray Shinty Club and an enthusiastic volunteer and coach with a number of youth and school teams. For the past two years he has been employed by Argyll and Bute Council as a fitness instructor at the Mid Argyll Sport Centre.
Torquil Macleod, Camanachd Association Chief Operating Officer, said: We are delighted Euan will be joining the team. His past professional and playing experience, coupled with his enthusiasm for the sport, will strengthen the association and I am sure he will have a very positive impact upon the further development of shinty in Argyll and Bute.
Euan remarked: I am delighted to be appointed as Argyll and Bute Shinty Development Officer and working within a sport I am passionate about. I am fully committed to embracing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to working closely with the clubs, schools and many volunteers throughout the region to help introduce more youngsters to shinty and improve the overall standard of the sport in the south.
