PITCHING IN TO GET SHINTY PLAYED

With some west coast pitches still unfit for play, two of shinty's top-tier matches have been switched to the away teams' home grounds.

Work is ongoing to improve Kyles Athletic's pitch at Kames, so this weekend's tie with Glenurquhart has been transferred to Glenurquhart.
Likewise, Fort William's would-be home match versus Kingussie will now be played at the Dell, Kingussie.

Away from the Orion group premiership, the Camanachd Association website is reporting that Bute cannot raise a second team for this weekend's south division two game against joint-top side, Lochside. The Oban club gets the points.

In south division one meanwhile, Glenorchy's Mart Park pitch has suffered over the winter with prolonged rain, and after last week's cancellation of the Kilmory game, the omens are looking slightly better for this weekend's tie versus Strachur. There is rain forecast for Friday, but a few drier days might have allowed the pitch sufficient respite to get the game played.
